Dr. Junghee Seo attended the University of Waterloo to earn her Honors Bachelor of Science degree. She later received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Seo has completed extensive optometric training throughout the United States. Her externship rotation at Cascade Vision Center in Renton, Washington heavily emphasized advanced dry eye management and contact lens fittings. At the Rosenbloom Center for Vision & Aging in Chicago, she diagnosed and managed a vast array of ocular disease in geriatric patients and provided pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgery. She also provided full-scope patient care at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago rotating through the urgent care, advanced glaucoma, pediatric, and contact lens departments.
Dr. Seo continues to strengthen her knowledge through her involvement in research at the Center for Ocular Research & Education at the University of Waterloo. Currently as a clinical scientist and previously as a lab research assistant, she has been involved in multiple studies focusing on dry eye, contact lenses, ocular cytotoxicity and physiology. She has published several peer reviewed articles in journals including Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, and Scientific Reports.
Dr. Seo is excited to provide comprehensive eye care in the Kitchener-Waterloo area where she
grew up. She can provide exams in both English and Korean. Dr. Seo is currently a member of
the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the College
of Optometrists of Ontario.
